Dr. W.J. van der Pot (1977) studied medicine at the Academic Medical Centre from 1995 to 2002. From 2003 to 2009, he trained as a plastic, reconstructive, cosmetic, and hand surgeon at the AMC, the Netherlands Cancer Institute Anthonie van Leeuwenhoek (NKI-AvL), and the Red Cross Hospital in Beverwijk. He has taken several international courses and also completed an internship in plastic surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York in the run-up to his training. In addition, he is an official Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS), having passed the required exams in November 2008. Wouter van der Pot is a member of the Dutch Association for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (NVEPC) and was chairman of the Education, Training and Examination Committee (ONE) for the Dutch Association for Plastic Surgery (NVPC) from 2013 to 2019. He also draws extensively and has provided medical/anatomical illustrations for various medical publications. He has twins and lives with his family in Amsterdam.
